All the blogs I read talk about: wedding mistakes, what the bride and groom should or shouldn’t do to prevent disasters during the ceremony or reception, or tips to make your own flower arrangements. Today I want to talk about something out of the ordinary. I want to talk about Steampunk. That’s right, you heard it right, Steampunk.
For those who don’t know what this is, Steampunk is a retro-futuristic aesthetic that combines period steam powered machinery, science fiction and the dress of the Victorian era, to include the “Wild West”.
Many people now a days preserve and embrace that genre through their outfits, home décor, and even through their social gatherings. To make it simpler, think about the Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr. or Will Smith’s “Wild, Wild West”. In these movies you get to see the perfect mix of steam-based Industrial science and the Victorian setting. That is Steampunk. Victorian elegance with a fun twist!
What about if we step out of the box for once, and go beyond the common barn pastel glass and floral wedding, or party. I personally would love to do something like this, and I think that you would impress your guests with an original and fun idea!
I love challenges and the “out of the box” ideas! If not Steampunk, what is your hidden fantasy “Perfect” event – don’t be shy!
Let’s create this together!
